At Second Home, children play and learn in a comfortable, secure environment. Respect for self, others and the environment is encouraged. Second Home is located in a bright, beautiful home in a quiet, family-oriented, residential neighbourhood. The main playroom is located on the main floor and is a big, open space  with plenty of space to play. Children are given opportunities to explore different toys and activities. Full-time, part-time and emergency care are available. For more information, click on the links above.

Full-Time Care

Monday to Friday

8:00am-5:30pm

Black and White Star in Circle

Part - Time Care

2-4 days per week / half days

I know how scary it can be to place your child in the care of a stranger. That’s why I make it a priority to provide a safe and inviting environment for all children I look after. At Second Home, parents stay calm whenever they leave their children in our care. I’m an experienced Child Care Provider and will look after your kids with caution and care.

Emergency Care

When you need child care ASAP

Years of experience have made it clear that parents often need a Child Care Provider on short notice. As long as I have the space, I’ll do my best to accommodate you. Don’t hesitate to call me whenever you need. I’m a highly convenient and safe option for parents who require emergency care. More information on all Second Home's services is available in the Parent Handbook.

About Me

Nina Laitinen, OCT, B.A., BEd. Early Childhood Educator and Primary Teacher

I have been working with children since 1995. I am also a mom of an outgoing little girl. Children are my passion and I have dedicated my life to teaching and learning from them. I enjoy watching them grow and learn. My goals are to teach children about respect for self, others and the environment.

I graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Early Childhood Education (ECE) from Ryerson University and have worked in various child care centres, schools (I have taught kindergarten and primary grades) and have been the head teacher at Lollipops Educare in the Preschool room in Auckland, New Zealand. This experience taught me the demands and rewards of managing a daycare. If you are in need of child care, please contact me. I look forward to meeting you and your little one!
